  This blog is created to support students to have success in the KET exam.

  The KET exam, now called KEY, is an English exam where you adquire a level A2 of the CEFR (common European Framework).

Achieving a certificate at this level proves that a person can use English to communicate in simple situations.

   This exam covers all four language skills (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening).

   There are three papers in the exam;


·        The Reading and Writing part can not take you more than 1 hour and 10 minutes.

·        The listening part takes you 30 minutes approximately.

·        The speaking part takes you up to 10 minutes.


   100 points are the maximum that you can get in this exam. Listening and Speaking carry 25% of the total mark each, and Reading and Writing paper carries 50% of the total mark.

   The candidates result has to be 70% or more if they want to pass the exam.

85–89 marks

70–84 marks
Council of Europe Level A1
45–69 marks
Fail
0–44 marks
